When you’re considering a relationship, nothing is more important than security and honesty. That’s why we perform background checks on every member of our service. Though background checks are not completely accurate 100% of the time, they give you a huge advantage over other meeting venues. Our background checks are designed for security and honesty.

For your security, we ban all felons who’ve been convicted of any sexual offense, a violent crime, a crime involving a weapon, or an Internet crime. Screening for Internet criminals is intended to prevent online dating scams and identity theft. We aggressively pursue anyone who attempts any such scam on our site, and anyone else we discover to have lied during our screening process.

We also screen for all other felony convictions. Again; sexual, violent, and Internet criminals are forbidden from joining this site. Other offenders are allowed, but they’re clearly identified. So, if someone committed a white-collar or a victimless crime, they can still join our site. But, when you view their profile, you’ll see a prominent description of their criminal history. If they post an explanation, which they're encouraged to do, our detectives will research and verify it. This adds an element of honesty that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Or, if you prefer, we’ll keep you completely separated from all convicted felons. With a simple selection in your match settings, they’ll be excluded from your matches, and they won’t see your profile, either. The choice is yours: We’ll provide that extra level of protection if you want it.

To further promote honesty, we also verify everyone’s age, seven-year bankruptcy history, and marital status. So, when you see how old someone is, you’ll know it’s the truth. If someone’s been in bankruptcy during the past seven years, you'll know that, too. And if someone's married, it will be clearly visible. Of course, if you’re not seeking a married person, we’ll keep you completely separated from them. You’re in control.
